BRITISH “PUTTING INTO USE REPLACEMENT REFRIGERANTS” REPORT – 2018 EDITION
01 March 2018
The British Refrigeration Association (BRA) has produced a 2nd edition of its PURR (Putting into Use Replacement Refrigerants) report.
PURR first edition was produced in 2015 to help industry to address the implications and requirements of the EU F-Gas Regulation 517 (2014), with specific reference to the urgent need for replacement of high GWP R-404A.
Considering the 2021 cap of 45 per cent of the 2015 baseline, extensive use of R-410A (GWP = 2,088) will represent a large share of the quota and its availability be notably affected.
- This second edition has been therefore been updated to reflect recent these developments, and contains new features :
Data on the A2L (mildly flammable) R-404A alternatives - A new sections addressing the challenge for the air conditioning sector to replace R-410A in the future, including data on R-410A alternatives
- General information on the use of A2L (mildly flammable) refrigerants.
The report also stresses the importance for still in use R-404A systems to be serviced with reclaimed or recycled product.
